Swedish or Relaxation massage

60 min $100 | 90 min $135

This type of massage is the most commonly known and practicced. It incorporates long soothing strokes and kneading of certain muscles to improve circulation, eases muscle tension, and create a relaxation response in the body. As with most types of massage, the client is covered except for the area that is being worked.

This session is perfect if relaxation is your goal, you prefer a lighter touch, or it is your first massage experience.

Deep Tissue Massage

60 min $100 | 90 min $135

This session is very similar to a Swedish massage but generally the pressure will be more intense and the strokes slower. Deep tissue treatments focus on the deeper structures of the muscle tissue and fascia,  also known as connective tissue. This can incorporate the full body but is often applied to target focus areas. When the pressure is intense, the practitioner will encourage the client not to hold the breath (do not grin and bear it) but to take deep breaths or possibly they will ease up on the pressure. As with all therapies, communication is important, so never be afraid to speak up!

Hot Stone Massage

60 min $120 | 90 min $145

This session is a lot like a traditional Swedish or deep tissue massage with the addition of hot basalt stones used to ease tense muscles faster. Think of this technique like a hot knife melting through butter.  The stones are held by the practitioner and act as an extension of their hands while performing  various massage techniques.  Some stones are placed and left on the body while the massage therapist works other areas.

This is not recommended for mothers-to-be or for people with high blood pressure.

Prenatal Massage

60 min $100 | 90 min $135

This session flows similar to a Swedish massage but is tailored to the expectant mother’s changing needs throughout the duration of her pregnancy.

Pillows and props are used throughout the treatment for optimal comfort. Side lying techniques are used to work the back, hips, and hamstrings. The rest of the body is massaged while lying face up. Specific pressure points are avoided until the mother is almost full  term, at which point these areas are worked to help induce labor.

Please consider booking after your 1st trimester (at least 12 weeks) to receive this service at Stil.

Rolfing Structural Integration

Rolfing Structural Integration balances the body in gravity
SI can be summed up in three words: palpation, discrimination and integration.

We palpate, or touch the tissue, feeling for imbalances in tissue texture, quality and temperature to determine where we need to work.

Named after its founder, Dr. Ida P. Rolf, Rolfing Structural Integration is a form of bodywork that reorganizes the connective tissues, called fascia, that permeate the entire body.

Rolfing Structural Integration has the ability to dramatically alter a person’s posture and structure. Rolfing SI can potentially resolve discomfort, release tension and alleviate pain. Rolfing SI aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body.

More than fifty years ago, Dr. Rolf recognized that the body is inherently a system of seamless networks of tissues rather than a collection of separate parts. Rolfing Structural Integration works on this web-like complex of connective tissues to release, realign and balance the whole body, thus potentially resolving discomfort, reducing compensations and alleviating pain.

Rolfing SI aims to restore flexibility, revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more comfortable in your body.

Essentially, the Rolfing process enables the body to regain the natural integrity of its form, thus enhancing postural efficiency and your freedom of movement.
